Pause Time: July 2015 Wrap-up!

July was a really good month in terms of the reading and reviewing I got done. I managed to read almost every book in my July TBR and also to write the reviews for quite a lot of titles that I'd read before.

The only book I failed to read was A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness, and it wasn't because of time constraints. I could've read it if I had forced myself to go through it, but I don't like to do that with books; the whole point of me reading books is to enjoy them. That's what constitute "reading for pleasure". And the thing is that I just wasn't in the mood for that type of book and I would like to enjoy myself when I pick it up at a time when I'm really feeling like reading it.

However, since I love my planning and to-do-lists, I felt like I needed to do something to make up for deviating from my own plans, because that's the whole point of making plans!! So I came up with a rule which will ensure that I get to read what I'm in the mood for, but also to try and stick with my previous plans, so here it is:

RULE #1 of TBR plans: For each book I remove from my previously set TBR list for a given month, I have to read two other books to replace the scheduled book.

I enforced that rule and I did read two more books that I wasn't planning to read this month. And I felt better about taking A Discovery of Witches out of my TBR.
