Waiting on Wednesday [18]: Tonight the Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming books we are looking forward to being released.
This week pick is:

Tonight the Streets Are Ours
by Leila Sales
Expected Pub. Date: September 15th, 2015
Farrar, Straus and Giroux (BYR)
Young Adult Contemporary

Premise:

From the author of This Song Will Save Your Life comes a funny and relatable book about the hazards of falling for a person you haven't met yet.

Seventeen-year-old Arden Huntley is recklessly loyal. Taking care of her loved ones is what gives Arden purpose in her life and makes her feel like she matters. But she's tired of being loyal to people who don't appreciate her—including her needy best friend and her absent mom.

Arden finds comfort in a blog she stumbles upon called "Tonight the Streets Are Ours," the musings of a young New York City writer named Peter. When Peter is dumped by the girlfriend he blogs about, Arden decides to take a road trip to see him.

During one crazy night out in NYC filled with parties, dancing, and music—the type of night when anything can happen, and nearly everything does—Arden discovers that Peter isn't exactly who she thought he was. And maybe she isn't exactly who she thought she was, either.

Why am I waiting?

First of all, let's take a good look at that cover... It's just so pretty! Also, I've heard great things about Leila Sales and this book appeals to me much more than This Song Will Save Your Life, which I have yet to read, but whatever... I really liked the premise, I love when books have  a character that has something to do with blogging, because I can relate so much and I normally adore them. I'm really looking forward to this one!

What do you think about this one?

I'd love to read your thoughts.

  1. Oh... intriguing choice. I have not heard of it, but it looks like something I'd read. My WoW is gothic horror romance and kind of a different thing for me, but I think it's going to be amazing.

  2. Looking forward to this one, too. The cover is gorgeous, and I enjoyed TSWSYL! (Except for the sneaking out part, being a mom and all. HA!)

I haven't read TSWSYL yet but it's on my bookshelf and I might just have to pick it up soon!
