Waiting on Wednesday [17]: Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming books we are looking forward to being released.
This week pick is:

Carry On
by Rainbow Rowell
Expected Pub. Date: October 6th, 2015
St. Martin's Griffin
Young Adult Paranormal Fantasy

Premise:

Rainbow Rowell continues to break boundaries with Carry On, an epic fantasy following the triumphs and heartaches of Simon and Baz from her beloved bestseller Fangirl.

Simon Snow just wants to relax and savor his last year at the Watford School of Magicks, but no one will let him. His girlfriend broke up with him, his best friend is a pest, and his mentor keeps trying to hide him away in the mountains where maybe he’ll be safe. Simon can’t even enjoy the fact that his roommate and longtime nemesis is missing, because he can’t stop worrying about the evil git. Plus there are ghosts. And vampires. And actual evil things trying to shut Simon down. When you’re the most powerful magician the world has ever known, you never get to relax and savor anything.

Carry On is a ghost story, a love story, a mystery and a melodrama. It has just as much kissing and talking as you’d expect from a Rainbow Rowell story — but far, far more monsters

Why am I waiting?

I finished reading Fangirl a week ago or so, and I absolutely loved it. I love that we'll get to see what Cath was supposedly writing all those years! I can't wait to read it!

What do you think about this one?

I'd love to read your thoughts.

  1. I love this blurb: "the evil git" Mwaha. It just seems like one I'd be laughing out loud at on the train to work and getting side-eyes from everyone else on there, lol. this one's mine

  2. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS BOOK EITHER! Fangirl is one of my all-time favorite books. A lot of people have said that they didn't care for the fanfic parts that were added to Fangirl, but I actually loved them. I loved seeing and reading what Cath was so invested in and what she was working on. And Rainbow can do no wrong, in my opinion. I'm sure Carry On will be amazing.
